JD Vance Banned on BlueSky 12 Minutes After his First Post
BlueSky: Where Intelligence Goes to Die - By Trevor Anderson
Vice President JD Vance was suspended from the left-leaning social media platform Bluesky on Wednesday just minutes after joining and sharing his first post.
He posted: “Hello Bluesky, I’ve been told this app has become the place to go for common sense political discussion and analysis, So I’m thrilled to be here to engage with all of you.” see: https://nypost.com/2025/06/18/us-news/jd-vance-gets-suspended-from-x-competitor-bluesky-just-12-minutes-after-first-post/
Then he was gone.
So, I made a terrible decision. I poured a glass of iced tea, opened my laptop, and thought to myself, “Hey, let’s see what all the buzz is about with this new BlueSky thing, if it is good enough for JD, maybe I’ll give it a shot.” Maybe it is as they claim, “the future of civilized conversation.”
Spoiler alert: it’s not.
What I found wasn’t a thoughtful exchange of ideas or a lively democratic debate. No, what I found was… vulgarity, hate, and the kind of verbal violence that makes a Waffle House at 2 a.m. look like a church potluck.
You see, BlueSky was supposed to be the alternative to X (formerly Twitter), a platform too “toxic” for the delicate sensibilities of people like Jamie Raskin, who apparently fled to BlueSky for some peace and quiet—and then proceeded to scream into the void like a toddler on a juice detox.
Let’s take a look at what this intellectual powerhouse had to say:
“Donald Trump: Russian-owned since 1978.”
“No Kings since 1776.”
“Trump’s parade? Did we fund it by cutting Army pay?”
Thanks for the history lesson, Jamie. I especially love the part where you accuse President Trump of treason while pretending you’re the adult in the room. Jamie's dad, Marcus, spent his career as a top anti-Anti-Communist, advocating for whatever the Soviets were pushing for at the moment. Like, an actual Marx-and-Engels, Red Scare-type. Evidently, Jamie believes that his family history provides him with a unique insight into who is pushing the so-called “Russian line.” The Raskin family reunions must be a hoot. “Who brought the hummus and who brought the dialectical materialism?”
And let’s be clear—Jamie Raskin is not just shouting from the sidelines. He’s in Congress, acting like his BlueSky profile is a Reddit thread. Also, despite what you might assume, Jamie isn’t Jewish—he’s an atheist, but that doesn’t stop him from weaponizing identity politics when it’s convenient.
But hey, Raskin’s not alone in his journey into the loony bin. Enter Chuck Schumer, with the emotional depth of a yard sign:
“No kings in America.”
Yes, Chuck, thank you. Next time we want a revolutionary war-themed nursery rhyme, we’ll give you a call. This is the guy who rubber-stamps trillion-dollar spending sprees and backs every bureaucratic expansion imaginable—but don’t worry, he’s totally against kings.
Even the New York Times couldn’t resist the urge to pile on:
“Protesters filled plazas, streets and parks… to protect democracy from President Trump.”
Right. Because nothing says “protect democracy” like burning the American flag, waving Mexican flags, and smashing cop cars. Did I accidentally log into AntifaBook?
BlueSky is basically the Gen Z version of a group therapy session—but the kind where no one gets better and everyone screams over each other. The platform has all the charm of a public restroom at a punk rock venue and the intellectual rigor of a middle school lunch table. Think OnlyFans, but instead of adult content, it’s just Raskin and Schumer stripping away logic and decency.
Honestly, the place is so hypersensitive and hyper-toxic at the same time, I half expected a content warning just for logging in. “Trigger Warning: Users may encounter facts. Just kidding—we banned those.”
So if you’re wondering whether BlueSky is a place for open dialogue, spirited discussion, or even basic human decency, allow me to save you the trouble: No. It’s where intelligence goes to die.
Final Thoughts?
If you enjoy reading lukewarm conspiracy theories, anti-American screeds, and elected officials pretending they’re 19-year-old baristas with sociology degrees, then BlueSky is for you. For the rest of us—stick to reality, Truth Social or X.
Rating: One burning American flag out of five.
Recommendation: Go outside. Touch grass. Avoid BlueSky.
And Follow-up on JD Vance: A spokesperson for the platform said Vance's account was removed because Bluesky's system flagged it as a potential impostor.
"Vice President Vance's account was briefly flagged by our automated systems that try to detect impersonation attempts which have targeted public figures like him in the past," Bluesky said in its statement. "The account was quickly restored and verified so people can easily confirm its authenticity."
"We welcome the Vice President to join the conversation on Bluesky," the company said.
